ASID 2002 Award - Christine DeLashmutt, Lazzara Yachts’ long- term in-house Interior Designer, was awarded the coveted Design Excellence Award at the recent ASID award ceremonies held at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The award, the 3rd bestowed upon Ms. DeLashmutt by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), honored her superlative design creation for Lazzara’s new 80’ SC model, the first hull of its kind and Lazzara’s latest entry in the luxury yacht market in 2002. Ms. DeLashmutt is no stranger to the accolades of the ASID Awards, having previously won for her creative interior design excellence for hull 80-14 in 1997 and hull 94-01 in 1999. Lazzara Yachts is the only yacht company to have won three ASID awards. The all-new Lazzara 80 SC is a five stateroom motor yacht with exotic woods as an integral element in each interior. The salon has cherry trim with a high gloss finish, and fluted columns with starburst veneer patterns. Marble, granite, onyx and other varieties of flooring are incorporated into the interior, along with custom inlaid carpet patterns that individualize the design. Lazzara Yachts continues to set the industry standards. 2000 International Superyacht Design Award - Brad Lazzara accepted the 2000 International Superyacht Design Award in the 23-32m power yacht category at the recent 41st Annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. The Award was for Lazzara’s latest entry in the worldwide luxury yacht arena; their new 94’ model, named by its owner "Crown Legacy", introduced in May, 1999.In contrast to the only other major design award for large yachts, which is judged by the publications editors, the Superyacht Society design award is bestowed upon the winner by a jury of 12 internationally based judges representing various elements of the yachting industry. "To me, this award means we’ve been recognized by our industry peers as having a superior design and product and I think there’s no greater compliment," Brad Lazzara stated. "Obviously, I was proud for everyone in the company. I was also proud that our company is only 10 years old and we have won this award. Actually, we’ve just completed our 7th year of deliveries. Our first was delivered in October, ’93, and here we are 7 years later in October, 2000 winning the yachting industry’s two major awards (Lazzara Yachts was also awarded the Showbats International Magazine award), in one year and for the same yacht. Last year, Chris DeLashmutt, our Interior Designer, won an ASID award for her work. As far as I know, Lazzara is the only yacht builder to have won three awards in one year, the only one." 2000 Showboats International Magazine Award - On June 26, 2000, Dick Lazzara, along with Lazzara Vice President Craig Williams, were among the 750 people invited from all over the world to gather at the Musee Oceanographique in Monaco. Dick and Craig were there to accept the ShowBoats International Magazine award for Best Semi-Production Yacht in 1999 for his companies latest entry in the worldwide luxury yacht market, the Lazzara 94’. The event, a veritable assembly of who’s who in the international boating world, was in celebration of the 10th Annual Showboat International Magazine awards recognizing the finest yachts on the planet. The evenings festivities were part of SBI’s 11th Annual Rendezvous in Monaco designed to focus attention on the need to preserve the international marine environment, organized under the auspices of H.S.H. Prince Ranier III and H.S.H. Prince Albert, who was in attendance that night along with H.R.H. Prince Khaled of Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Ambassador to Monaco and long list of international dignitaries. "We were very flattered that a company right here in Tampa, Florida, has that kind of world renown. It recognizes us along with the finest yacht builders in the world." Dick exclaimed. "We were one of the two smallest boats in all the categories for awards that evening, the largest being over 300’." A three minute video of the new Lazzara 94’ highlighting its many innovative features and explaining why the award was won was shown just prior to Dick accepting his trophy. ASID Award - Christine DeLashmutt, Lazzara Yacht’s long time in house Interior Designer, was awarded the coveted Design Excellence Award in the Recreational/ Transportation Design category at the recent Night of the Stars award ceremonies held at the Design Center of the America’s annual celebration in Dania Beach near Ft. Lauderdale. The award, bestowed upon her by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), honored her superlative design creation for Lazzara’s latest entry in the luxury yacht market in 1999, the first hull of it’s kind for their all new 94’ model, 94-01. Only one award in each category is granted. No stranger to the accolades of the ASID Awards, this is Chris’ 2nd trophy. She previously won for her creative interior design excellence for hull 80-14 in 1997.
MTU Award - Lazzara Yachts received the 1994 MTU Zero Defects award for the new Lazzara 76. Lazzara Yachts is the first company in the United States to receive the award. "We are extremely honored that Mercedes Benz (MTU is a Division of Mercedes Benz) would give us such an award" said Dick Lazzara. "Not only that but to be the first U.S. company to receive it is even a greater honor".
