Doesnt Lazzara already have this system with joysick installed in LXS75? Whats so amazing about ZEUS? M

  3. Chris Larson says:

There is a Joystick in the LSX75 and LSX92, both of which use Volvo Penta’s IPS(pod drives), where as this uses Cummins Mercruiser Diesel’s Zues Drives(pod drives). As you can see they are both pod drives, offering the same advantages over conventional drives, they are just executed differently(Volvo Penta IPS has the props in the front while CMD Zues has the props in the rear). Seems like the power and gear ratios of the Zues made it the better choice for the LMC76. I’m not positive about this or not, but Zues has skyhook(keeps boat motionless in the water) where IPS does not. Hope this helps.

M, I posted the reasons why we picked the Zeus system for the LMC76. You can read about it http://richlazzara.com/2009/02/24/zeus-vs-ips/

Bottom line is they are both very similar and depending on the application will determine which one we use.
